eSport-Pro released a statement today concerning some breaking deals they have made:
The next and new phase of eSport pro is now well under way. Gone are the days of begging for equipment and cash.We have now done deals with a few well known hardware manufacturers to do marketing for them on the eSport pro site and also on eSport pro's new sister site (to be revieled soon).
For 2003/2004 we have already secured a monthly income that over the comming year will amount to v reasonable 4 figure Euro currency deal (close to a 5 figures) and this is set to increase to a larger 5 figure deal in the next 3 months. This money will be used to support chosen teams and players and also to pay some of our news staff for the new site.
This new stratagy is based on a solid business model that is tried and tested and will offer the companies that support eSport pro and what we stand for a real return on there monthly investment.
The new sister site will be a full blown gaming portal that covers the community needs in all hardcore games such as CS, UT, Q3, WC3 etc and also the major gaming consoles. As I said more news to follow.
Next to give out is a large amount of servers for deserving eSport pro teams and also a v large number of bouncers. This will also be coupled with one or two deals that will reduce a number of teams costs and also bring them to a new level in pro gaming.
More news on each of these will be release over the next comming week.
Money will be available based on a tournament to tournament basis and on a team by team basis and eSport pro will invest based on that teams chance of getting placed. In return we will want some of the winnings and this will be discussed case by case.
We have been quite for the last quarter, but now the seeds that I have been sowing will start to grow and flower
Some may have negative opinions on this, hopefully it does turn out to be a true step forward for esports.

niiiice :/
also "comming"
also the use of the humble comma
also the use of the humble apostrophe
also writing things out in full rather than abbreviating to v.
Just my humble opinion - but if I worked for a professional hardware company, and read a press release like that I'd run a mile. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
