CPL Cannes Update

Lots of action over at the CPL Cannes 2003 event, too much so that I wont post it all. The main points to note are that the group stage is well underway in the Counter-Strike 11,000€ (Euro) Tournament. Some of Europe’s top Counter-Strike clans are in attendance and it promises to be a good event.

• Groups A & B: These groups contain two of the clans tipped to take the CPL Cannes title; SK.swe and Mousesports. Both teams won all 4 of their games to book a place in the bracket phase. After close calls the two teams who had to settle for 2nd place were intensity and unit of ghosts. For demos and full tables check out gotFrag.
• Groups C & D: The big surprise here came in group C where French team GG who did so well at the CPL Winter UK Qualifiers were knocked out. The French team who is considered by many a top clan in Europe have to be upset at their early departure. Team9.esu took the top spot in the group with Pro-Pain taking second. In group D it was a more straightforward affair with aAa taking top spot and the Norwegian team Limitless taking 2nd. For demos and the final group tables click here.
• Groups E & F: Dynamic Crew and eu4ia come out on top as most expected in group E with erratic topping group F. Spanish team 'Falcons' take the 2nd playoff spot.
• Groups G & H: Once again it is as you would of expected with 7th and 15th seeds SoA and Pod getting through from group G and 8th seed level topping group H. nEophyte follow them into the playoffs.
