OMG! m0rph is leaving

Long-standing member of the UK Counter-Strike community m0rph announced today that he is leaving OMG! and Counter-Strike indefinitely. Known to most for his appearance in the team UK squad and for his [UKLA] days Alex has been there, done that and got the t-shirt when it comes to UK Counter-Strike. I managed to catch up with him earlier and this is what he had to say:

This will come as a shock to most of the community especially after only last weekend you helped OMG! to a 2nd place at UKT Northampton. I guess the big question on everyone's lips is why? So... why are you leaving?

m0rph: Leaving unfortunately wasn't down to be but circumstances. First one being work. I switched my work time to evenings during my gap year meaning I can't make the regular practice with omg! It was a sudden change and I honestly didn't expect it. Second reason is that my football team I play for now play 3 times a week as opposed to 1, meaning I have 3 late night training sessions a week. I got no time for cs anymore.

Is there any chance that you will be back playing with OMG! Anytime at all in the future or is this a true goodbye?

m0rph: I won't have much time to chat on irc anymore nor will I be able to play to a high standard considering I'll be out of practice and omg! Will have developed some team play together. I don't want to kid myself to say that I will be back anytime soon because quite frankly I wont :) omg! have 6 players now without me, so it’s a perfect position for them to affirm their place in the top 3 UK teams placing.

Speaking of OMG! , It now leaves their roster looking like this: Craig, DArtagnan, vip, Bom, Gideon, Sarge. Some see you as a key member of the squad; do you think they have what it takes to continue their top 3 UK clan status now you have gone?

m0rph: I think without me omg! Will be stronger simply because they can now practice with a smaller unit. 6 people is better than 7 and I so maybe me leaving isn't such a bad thing. I think that omg! will push up the ranking, there is too much talent here for it to just die out. I spoke to Craig and he understands my position. He has now taken full control of omg.cs and will be the lone cl.

Finally, even though I already know the answer to this... Do you have anything to say to the people reading this? Any shout outs etc... ?

m0rph: Biggest shout out goes to Craig, setting up omg! and moving it up the UK ladder was hard but the most enjoyable time of my cs career. Secondly all my friend's in omg.cs Sumit,Clint,Greg,Rob,Rob(bom),Jason,ven0 and tom. Also gl to RTCW and UT Squads. Secondly cheers for all the peeps that I've had the chance to meet at LAN and play cs with, Uk cs isn't as bad as some make out! Big up to aWs who were my first 'proper' cs team and Mani. Hehe and rhyzz of course for being the biggest twat I have ever had the displeasure of communicating with :)

Indeed a sad day. Good luck m0rph with whatever you do in the future and I hope that someday you do return.
