OMG! - CS Squad Changes

Not much more needed to say really, many of you have seen the DArtagnan post already this is merely a follow up. Here is the direct copy of the press release you can find on the OMG! website.

Over the past few weeks OMG! have taken huge steps forward and we hope the success and momentum we have picked up recently continues on into the future. Since our 3rd place finish at Intel our squad has been somewhat unsettled with Sarge going inactive and Landshark leaving us as well as Gideon living in Ireland making it harder for him to travel to LAN events constantly. Because of these factors today announce a new, stronger Counter-Strike squad. The squad made up of 7 now consists of: Craig, m0rph, VIP, Toomy, Gideon, Bom and Dartagnan. We feel this team is the perfect squad to take OMG! onto the next platform of UK gaming. You can expect to see the new squad in action for the first time at the UKT Secondary Strike LAN series that kicks off in Northampton (The IT Centre) on the 22nd February. I also managed to have a word with m0rph about the changes:

Dev - Why did you choose to bring Greg and Bom to OMG! What is it about those two players that made you want them?

M0rph - Before one of the major LANs last year I lanned with Greg and Sumit for a while. I thought Greg was a really sound guy and nothing like what people made out to be. It was from there I followed Greg's progress. He has experience of the highest level and is one of the best players in UK, simple. With regards to Bom, I met him at numerous LANs and he is one of the nicest guys in the CS circuit in the UK. He is prepared to put effort into tactics and new ideas, which I think is so important when trying to become a better team. He has a lot of LAN experience and I think he’s going to be a big player for us.

Dev - A lot of people don't favour the rotation system. Why do you believe you guys can make it work?

M0rph - Some of our lot are at uni and have engagements to attend to. We can't play cs all the time. The other thing is that our rotation isn't as many people think. For example, I find inferno a weak map for me personally, so the rotation will be made there in terms of general play and preference. Its not only who plays and who doesn’t in a broad sense

Dev - Where to OMG! Realistically hope to place at the UKT LAN event in February

M0rph - We've come to expect third at all the LANs we attended and we got it. But this time I would like to say we're aiming for a top 2 finish. It all depends on getting our teamwork and team play up to scratch before the event. The next few months will be key in our development, but I honestly hope we can come out top and prove a few people wrong! :)

Dev - What other LAN's and online competitions will we be seeing OMG! playing in?

M0rph - We will be at CPL Paris in March. We will goto as many LANs as possible this year that we deem are worthwhile! I think any r worthwhile in the UK atm coz there are so few. I don’t really think i series is that hot, doubt you'll see us there as a team. but who knows!

Bom also had a few words to say:

Bom - gl to erm. I want them to win a tournie as much as i want to win any meself. Best clan ive been in by far. I think i just needed something to get me going in cs again.

Finally I can confirm that these are the last changes that we will be making for the foreseeable future to our roster. The team has also already started to practise in preparation for the competitions that are soon to be happening and we hope to see you there.
