Today, The CPL opened registration for their Summer 2003 World Championship event.
The CPL announced today that the online registration for both the $200,000 Counter-Strike World Championship and the BYOC is now open.
The CPL Summer 2003 Event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas from Wednesday, July 30, 2003 to Sunday, August 3, 2003. The main tournament game will be Half-Life Counter-Strike and the total purse will be $200,000 with a record-breaking $70,000 for the winning team. Contestants must be at least 17 years of age to participate in this tournament.

The top five prizes are:

1. 70,000
2. 40,000
3. 25,000
4. 15,000
5. 10,000
A community-organized BYOC Team Fortress Classic tournament will also be hosted at the CPL Summer 2003 Event. Other attractions include a large exhibition area, C3, workshops, spectator arena and music concert. Admission is $75 for all five-days.

With more prize money on offer for the CS tournament than ever before at a CPL event, the competition will be fierce and it is likely teams will practice harder than ever to win the $70,000 first prize.

However, how many UK teams will be representing the country at this event?
