Bits and Bobs

In traditional roundup style here are a few bits and pieces of news that have been floating around over the last couple of days.

• We start with the news that ScreaM has left Swedish clan [9]. Many believed it would be to join SK.swe but the Schroet camp has squashed these rumours. What lies ahed for [9] and ScreaM is yet to be seen.

• Sticking with SK but moving onto the German section, 4 of their key players left last night leaving only Gladiator, Brunie and Kaiser as the only remaining members. In yet more shock news these 3 players also announced that they were looking for new opportunities and the SK.Q3 side consisting of Kane, Kila, Paracyde, Deck, Vega and Faust was presented as the new SK.de cs team.

• Clan Mortal Teamwork have conducted some interviews with the likes of knoxville, 3D|Torbul and GoL|Thookie on the esu/eol merger. Read the interviews here.

• Eurogamer has a small news article which may be of some interest to some of the UK CS celebrities (the likes of which you will see in our poll). They bring word that "The National Network", a subdivision of MTV, is planning on having a gaming awards show at the end of this year. Who knows why or when but it seems like a good idea. What develops from this idea remains to be seen.

• Finally in an interview done with Erik Johnson from Valve on Homelan he was quoted as saying "We're planning on releasing the beta of Counter-Strike 1.6 via Steam on January 7th." This failed to happen and as suspected Valve made a statement saying unfortunately they cannot see it being released within the next week or so. Unfortunately most of us have come to expect that release dates given by Valve are not always accurate. So it looks like we are waiting.
