ECSL Burstfire.Net Cup

The guys over at ECSL are holding a small tournament while they prepare for the new season. Here's the info:

The ECSL is proud to annouce the ECSL burstfire.net cup. We have teamed up with Burstfire to give 32 clans the chance to compete against each other in the ECSL's third cup. Burstfire provide an excellent server hosting service and are well known for providing a good connection to their servers.
The tournament will be a single-elimination knockout tournament, which is covered by section 2 of the Rules and will be starting on the 20th January. Burstfire will be providing us with servers for the event, and we should also have HLTV coverage of every game!
The winners will get a free 16-person public server for a month from Burstfire, and a discount should they wish to continue to run the server.
The tournament will use standard maps from last season in the following order:
Round 1: Inferno
Round 2: Train
Quarter-Finals: Cobble
Semi-Finals: Dust 2
Final: Nuke
If your clan wishes to participate, please send an E-mail to divvur@far2cool.com with your clan's name, tag, website address, IRC channel, a contact E-mail address and a list of up to 8 members (including WONids).
Any questions, pop into #ecsl-admin and ask.

Not the best of prizes compared to Jolt Red November for example, but it should be fun nonetheless. Good luck to those participating.

	Divvur 16:11 6/1/2003	The ECSL is not out to make money, or to give huge cash prizes out to the Pros. Its aim, like most online gaming leagues, is to provide a competative game for clans who have got together and want do something other than just playing friendly after friendly. Burstfire has a similar approach. They are a non-profit organisation, with a team of volunteers, members of the gaming community, who work to try and set up the cheapest and most reliable servers for people to play on. ECSL Season V ended just before christmas, Season VI will be starting early February. To gives clans something inbetween, we are running a cup. Burstfire have offered us some servers for the cup to gain some publicity and show everyone that they are there providing a good service to the community. Maybe at some point we will be in a position to run a LAN for the Pro Gamers with a large amount of prize money to give away to the winners. However, at the moment we are offering a cup for those who will enjoy playing it, and rewarding the winning clan in a small way. I hope all those who enter have fun and enjoy themselves.
