I stopped staring at the hot fairy girl in the Nvidia GeForce FX banner long enough to actually look at the new news on the official CPL website. It appears that the summer registration for the 2003 Summer CPL will commence on January 14, 2003(the site says 2002). Here's what I grabbed from thecpl.com, stuffed in my jacket and then brought back to give you all:The CPL will launch the registration for the Summer 2003 Event on Tuesday, January 14, 2002. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dallas, Texas from Wednesday, July 30, 2002 to Sunday, August 3, 2003. The tournament game will be Half-Life Counter-Strike and a total pursue of $200,000 will be offered.That pretty much says it all. Got the date of the CPL, the prizes and admission fees all above for you.
The winning team will receive $70,000, the largest cash prize for any computer gaming tournament ever. 192 teams from 38 countries are expected to register for this massive tournament. The BYOC will be limited to 800 spots, therefore only teams that register early will be able to bring practice computers to the event.Admission is $75 for all five-days. Spectator passes will be offered for sale in June 2003.
