CPL - Final Round Up

After the aftermath of what has been an action packed weekend for various reasons I thought I would just post the overall final standings from the CPL Winter 2002 Event. For those of you who have been under a rock all weekend or have been caught up in the Intel Masters controversy then here are the standings as of after the grand final:

1st – 3D - $30,000
2nd – GoL - $20,000
3rd – Schroet Commando - $12,500
4th – Team 9 - $7,500
5th – Weekend Warriors - $6,000
6th – zEx - $4,000
7th – Riot-Squad - $3,000
8th – EoLithic - $2,000

You have to wonder what went wrong with EoLithic who were one of the peoples favourites going into this event. Well played to a very strong zEx team who showed a few people, certainly me that they are better than first anticipated. Teams like Riot-Squad and WeW continue to place in the top 10 at the big LANs with the Europeans still really dominating the event. What is noticeable is how 3D have answered many critics by winning the event; their aim sometimes seemed inhuman. Overall the event has been a success and I look forward to future CPL events. 	emfive 14:31 23/12/2002	Didn't think the final was that great, GoL played sloppily compared to what their capable of. Amazing first half by VicoN something like 15-5 over his teammates 3-7 scores. As CT though no idea what he was doing, seemed a bit deaf and dumb :[ GoL usually capable of a lot more, would of liked a win for GoL on the 1st map then a tight game on the 2nd, what CPLs are there for.
