A little earlier, DK, captain of the English team for the XGC 5 nations, sent me over a message saying that he had announced the England squad for the competition. Without too much waffle, here it is:Team: Sarge, Toomy, Danfrag, Righteous, Puneet, ND, KingKiller, VipThe final place has yet to be decided although it should be soon. Apparently, the man DK wanted for the final spot is offline these days...back to the shortlist it is. Looks like a pretty formidable line-up though...you'll find the guys in #england.cs on irc.
For those of you that missed it, you can find the Scotland squad in this news post or catch them in irc channel #scotland.cs.
I'm not quite sure of the other teams yet, but if they have been announced feel free to mail me and I'll post the teams up. Best of luck to all involved.
Update: A quick update on other announced teams, firstly Ireland's squad (#cs.ie):
Badazzle, BArra, Benji, Funky, Invictus, Loco, Practical, TazzleSecondly, the Wales squad has also been announced (#wales.cs):
erm^TeppuM, erm^WaZ, ONE|KhAoS, kronic, Dazz[marine], and m0o|maldsAgain, both look like quality teams...we're shaping up for some good matches.

Yeh thought so ... a nobody.
KK would pwn you ... SCEE have been around for 2+ years as a clan if you check our history we've had our ups and downs but have consistently been one of the best (top 10 ?) UK clans in all that time both online adn LAN.
We're no as 1337 as other clans mainly 'cos we're not that serious ... the hardcore of SCEE are mates who work together.
KK was ex LR and one of their best players ... LR were top 3 in UK not long ago.

There's enough people who follow the UK CS community closely enough to make a fair vote for these things so you definitely wouldnt get biased voting if it was broadcast properly and people had time to vote.
Same with the UK captaincy. Even Genius says it was a fix, when clearly he had 1/10th of the support that DK and Benji had.
A lot of the CS players in the respected countries take pride and interest in the team selections - they should have more say imo. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Also if I wasn't captain, would ND of been picked or Puneet? I put my email on here, on XGC for people to submit 'their' opinions. IF you have such an interest in UK CS, whey did I only recieve 30 emails? Quite frankly, people only have an interest in themselves and only voice their UK CS interest when it suits them.
I tried to spread the players around clans, to give as many clans as possible, someone who is representing them. I could quite easily have made a team strong enough from ONE & omg! players alone. I could easily make a strong enough team with the shortlisted players that didn't get in.
I'll now let the last player be decided completely by public opinion. Ill even list the people who had support or expressed and interest who made the shortlist:
omg! vip, omg! Fred, m0o-KID-,m0o-skz, Ex^, [SA]Gatty, [SA]Bombjack, DaibZ, iLLu.Tmc, bullet-Valkyr, Atom, Denzil, Kensai-Shiyrou.
Ive typed this in work over an hour period (busy atm) so ive probably missed a few more opinions and also a few names that was sent to me (apologies).

righteous pld solid at every lan where clanone have finished well. hes an excellent player.
Puneet is good with the awm and the fact that he has 9 sensitivity should warrant a callup in its own right :>
I havent pld much v or with ND but he pld well for noc at gdoc and that should warrant a position in the team.
(unconfirmed) - i pld with him in UKLA, hes one of the best players i have had the pleasure of playing with. Hes got good general play and great aim, probably one of the stronger additions as his name suggests. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
