As you'll have guessed from the headline, a new CAL-i Counter-Strike league got underway yesterday. All the usual suspects were in action, including last years championship winners, 3D, along with a bunch of new CAL-i teams. All matches were played on de_aztec, here are a list of the results:
- In for Blood 15 - 9 New Expert Gamers
- Team Stomping Grounds 13 - 11 Playboy
- neRve 20 - 4 TEC
- The unknown Factor 16 - 8 The Speakeasy Offensive
- Rival 22 - 2 Short Yellow Bus
- Eminence 21 - 3 Pinnacle
- Excess 13 - 11 Texas Area Untouchables
- Domain of Pain 14 - 10 Riot Squad
- zEx 15 - 9 Steelbreeze
- The Select Few 19 - 5 utopian
- Biodegradeable Heroes 13 - 11 issues with authority
- 3D 19 - 5 First Wave
- The Second Coming 13 - 11 LegenDz
- art of eXecution 16 - 8 Echo 7
- Weekend Warriors beat Gamers-X (forfeit)
The most notable matches include DoP's hard fought victory over [rs], and TSO's shock defeat to TuF. It's a result not many people would have predicted, but it seems TSO haven't managed to recover from their poor run, as well as the loss of, arguably, their best players at the end of last season. Current champs, 3D, resumed normal service with a comprehensive victory over 1st~.
