The teams that put the effort in to win their LAN qualifiers get LESS priority than those that turn up on the day, AND those that play in the online tourney? The LAN centre winners will in effect have to play an extra leg of matches to qualify (the LAN quals) rather than just turn up at the free for all, which stands to have less quality teams than the centre winners bracket. If we win that, we will go into the Saturday play-offs in London against all the other winners from pre-quals. Winners from VGA gaming centres need to come to the grand final on Saturday 5 October 9am for a gaming centre playoff. Regional winners will play in a tournament bracket of their own to decide a champion team, and that team will win the right to take part on the Sunday 6 October 2002 CS Finals. 	Aardvark theb0g 00:08 16/9/2002	Mathieu, my point is you effectively have to qualify twice, and take a harder route at that. Scenario: SO19 win our LAN centre qual. That puts us in the bracket with all the other centre winners. Clan X who we beat in the qual decide to go on the day and qual with the other on the day people in the free for all bracket. SO19 lose out to another LAN qualifier, and bear in mind that the winners of the LAN quals will be good clans, potentially a LOT of top clans will be fighting for one place. Clan X go on to win the free for all, which has a lower overall standard of clans taking part, as the top clans will all have played in the LAN quals and be fighting it out seperately. Its like double elimination, only once you drop into the losers bracket you can just keep going in the 'weaker' half of the competition, without having to play a decider. I suggest it would be better to 'merge' the free for all with the qualified LAN teams at some point, similar to the way CPL deals with autoberthed clans. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

In this tournament the lan winners get seeded. As there's meant to be 6 teams on the sunday, i guess the 2 finalists proceed to the sunday.
