Latest VAC Update Detects HLirc As Cheat

Bad news for all HLirc users. If you haven't heard already the latest beta VAC security modules (released yesterday) detects the program as a cheat. This has been sadly confirmed by HLirc's creator Disk2.

Yeah it is detected. When I released it the VAC didn't detect it, but the new beta does. And with the release of this VAC update I suppose it will be detected on all servers now.

To uninstall it just load mIRC, go to the Tools > Remote menu, then go to the View > HLirc.mrc menu, then go to the File > Unload menu.

Again, sorry about the confusion. I wasn't able to find the problem until some people at VALVe told me to try it with the VAC beta. I'd like to thank all those at VALVe that helped me figure out the problem. When Tracker is released it should include a plug-in system that will allow IRC chat, but for now no more chatting in-game.

So basically if you don't want to be unfairly accused of cheating uninstall HLirc until further notice.

Update: CS Nation sends word that HLirc's loading method is detected as a cheat, not the program itself.
