Greek CS Players Arrested

That's the very interesting news revealed in this article on BBC (thanks DaKid). Here's an extract:

"The first case of its kind will come before the Greek courts next week following the arrest of two people who allowed gamers to play the popular online game, Counter-Strike.

They face fines of 150,000 euros (£95,000) and up to 12 months imprisonment."

The Greek police force are obviously taking the legislation very seriously. Could you imagine being thrown in jail, for upto a year perhaps, just because you played a bit of Counter-Strike? The situation is very contorted indeed. Read more..

The greek government are a bunch of egotistical, short-sighted, facists but I knew this before this happened, suprised it took so long. 	Michael 18:19 6/6/2003	I like the way most of us ( possibly including me ) are speaking from the arse.The law was faultly written and set by ppl who had not much knowledge about technology.The intention was to solve the problem of illegal gambling concerning the games with the fruits, cards, ctra... which were, by the way, illegally (electronically) controlled by certain ppl who made profit of it.Thus, someone written a law with such a simplifying manner that drives some narrow minded cops to MISS the POINT of the law. The rest of us who speak about facist goverments and kebab stuff, they should shut their trap and go to Greece to find out its even more democratic than England or US!( Democracy its a greek word remember?)
