CPL Qualifiers Announced

The CPL and iGames (an organization of game centers) have announced in a press release the format for the upcoming CPL Winter Counter-Strike Qualifying Season:

"Counter-Strike teams from around the world will participate in Pre-Qualifying events in October, where the top four teams will continue on to one of 16 Qualifying Events being held worldwide in the month of November. The top team of each event wins airfare, hotel accommodations and a berth into the Counter-Strike $100,000 World Championships to take place at the CPL's Pentium® 4 Processor Winter Event 2002, being held in Dallas, Texas, December 18 to 22, 2002."

The breakdown of the qualifying event distributions are:

North America - 6
South America - 2
Europe - 2
Scandinavia - 2
Australia - 2
Asia - 1
Middle East & Africa - 1

The location and dates of all pre-qualifying events will be released on September 16 2002 (Pre-Qualifier participants may begin sign-up on that day). While the location and dates of all qualifying events will be released on September 25, 2002.

I'd say 5 Scandinavian teams, 3 German, 1 Benelux, 1 France, 2 UK&Ireland tbh. Cos Europe is the best. Plus america have more than 1 decent team. 	DArtagnan Infinity-eSports 20:09 20/8/2002	Well there's gonna be 3 more qualifiers in europe than for summer. UK had the only 1, all the rest paid to go by sponsors. The 2 quals in europe will be snapped up by the germans, unless we train like absolute demons to have a shot, and will be expensive to go to europe and play in the quals anyway.
