Until Valve's Anti-cheat is updated to catch all versions of OGC (see the below news-post), United Admins have written a guide to fighting OGC which is recommended reading for all server admins:"OGC, one of the most popular cheats around for Half-Life, has been in constant development for quite some time now. Because it's actively developed, this cheat has been able to avoid VAC and HLGuard with quick release cycles. Even as HLGuard and the VAC mature, so does OGC find new ways to implement it's features. Even with this battle, there are some things you can do to render some, if not all, features useless on your server(s). Here's a list to help you in your fight against OGC users:The listed suggestions are explained in more detail in the full article.
1. Enable VAC
2. Install and Implement HLGuard
3. Setting mp_footsteps to 0"

However sound is a very different matter, the basic fact is all OGC does is take information like (in simple terms)
Player1 made a footstep at Pos(X,Y)
then show u on the screen where that position is. Unless you either make fake sounds (wont work because legitimate players will hear them) or make no sounds (mp_footsteps 0 which removes a GREAT deal of skill IMO) but things like gun sounds will still locate the player. A system to only send the sound information to players that can hear it would reduce the effective range of the hack but it would still work. tbh the sound hacks will probably be harder to put a stop to than the wallhacks. Maybe their next piece of advice will be to load five instances of HLguard onto your server so it overloads it to such an extent that even aimbot bullets dont work - yay!

Installing OGC 10 to test on your own VAC servers
Enjoying it
Then playing on Jolt, BW, and BY with the hacks on

I appreciate that some games work very well without footsteps, particularly the fast-and-bouncy fpses (and I remember all the objections to them in Q3 when it was released) but they're absolutely central to CS play and if you're going to remove them, then you may as well remove guns, grenades and the ability to see more than 6 inches in front of you as well.
On another note, it amuses (and pleases) me greatly to see the phrase "Doing a Lithium" in common use. :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

He came into #infinity-eservers and said "I just downloaded OGC10 to try on my servers the fooker works."
Couple of days later in #infinity-esports main room, he said "I've been banned from bw, jolt and blueyonder cos my cousin used ogc on there while he was staying here."
What a likely story! His cousin! Who obviously A) knew that OGC was installed and B) knew how to use it. And considering Lithium couldn't get inet access a while ago because he only had one pc, surely he must have watched his cousin play?
But of course, that's bulls***. He enjoyed escaping the anti cheat measures, and owning people by using OGC, because he is after all a s*** CS player. 1mbit cable isn't everything it seems.
