Cascades, a top Finnish team, have joined established UK Clan Nocturne to become their Finnish division. The reported lineups for both teams are:Can we expect to see both teams respectively in Oslo in October?Remember you have to sign-up to view the interview, but it's free.
noc|-Rhyzz: eSport-pro have found the UK team a financial sponsor willing to pay expenses for the UK team to travel to Oslo in october, so the UK team will very likely be attending. The Finnish team is yet to be discussed between Paul and themselves.
What do you think this will do for both teams in the long run? What can we expect to see improve on either side?
noc|-Rhyzz: I think having a team that are well known around the world helps a lot with getting other well known teams to play us. With the new UK team we have been working hard and aim to win the next couple of LAN events we will be attending, but we will have to overcome the newly proved UK giant, I-eS, which could be difficult.
Paul: I believe that noc.fi (ex Cascades) will gain a solid structured team base to opperate from, a real-time sponsor programme and an overall more rounded team structure. noc.UK will gain the kudos to enable them to pcw against more top Euro teams, this will give them better quality practices.

We dropped Raider and Toomy for this team, also Messiah decided to have a break. We didnt go hunting for talent because that approache simply doesnt work. We will be practicing hard for gamesdomain, and show you how good the team is after just 3 weeks. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

if you never had teamplay in the first place then how are you going to get it back ??
people have been talking about teamplay more and more since the last CPL in dallas, mainly due to the fact that US clans were poor. teamplay is obtained through experience, by experience i mean playiing consistently at a high level(top euro clans) which is something the 'new' noc team have never done.
you also seem to be forgetting about the requirement of skill and a players "clutch" abilities. toomy has more skill and experience than everyone in the new line-up. i never said to go 'hunting' for talent, because it is failr obvious where it is, players like annum, bob, toomy and to a lesser extent raider and iron all have good skill and experience.
maybe if nocturne stuck with a team instead of chopping and changing their line-up on such a frequent basis then they might develop the team play rhyzz is talking about. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

sure we have a few that lack some exsperiance - but does that make them poor players? and how else are they going to get better? i-es didnt suddenly wake up a top team - they worked hard and took alot of s*** - almost 3 years of it , but now they have fully established themself as a powerful euroteam, and congratz to them for sticking with it.
With a bit of time/dedication we will be back as a strong team and prove to all the euros that the UK is a gaming nation :)

If a lower clan obtained a substantial sponsor, im sure it would be posted, but i dont think anyone really cares if a team gets some random server sponsorship, cause thats the only sort of sponsorship i ever see a less known team get.
The uk community knows who I-eS and noc are, so it reports on them, another main difference is, the teams who i would rate in the uk cs community, like erm dont really announce changes, they just do it. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

explain to me about your top level experience please.
.UK: dsx, Rhyzz, Marcus, ND, Fly & d3athstoRm2000.
dsx = CSA/omg? = inactive for a long time, dont remember you attending any lans bar cpl london.
rhyzz = noc have been active for about half the time he has been in the clan, in world beaters .SoE. prior to that.
proc/landy = i dont consider UI a top team, and they joined noc in their inactive period.
nd = no experience atall.
fly = ......, caught wallhacking against numbers, and played for f2b when noc beat them 13-3 at ps2002?
"sure we have a few that lack some exsperiance - but does that make them poor players? and how else are they going to get better?"
why get players who "might" be good and who "might get better, when you have experienced and PROVEN players out there. 'kicking out' toomy who played for uk and is experienced and skilled, as well as raider, it seems nocturne have downgraded?
"i-es didnt suddenly wake up a top team - they worked hard and took alot of s*** - almost 3 years of it , but now they have fully established themself as a powerful euroteam, and congratz to them for sticking with it."
With a bit of time/dedication we will be back as a strong team and prove to all the euros that the UK is a gaming nation
glad you can wait 3 years, but with the players you have u still wont be capable of becoming one of the top euro clans you are talking about.
"Alex, dNC all have top players, and there friend irl, and are lucky enough to be able to play from a LAN cafe every day. But even with all this, you were still unable to beat I-eS, simply because I-eS have been together for near enough 3 years, and there players are more experienced."
while dnc have access to a lan cafe we all live between 40mins to 1hr 30 away, the clan meets once a week more for socialising for practice, when we went to dnc for 'practice' we farted about on publics and played s***ty pcw's, dnc are also the worst cafe's around, the machines are p3 600 with geforce mx, with a whopping 512k connection shared between 30pc's . time is not important atall, sk.sca, and esu have been a team how long ?
dnc lost to i-es at quals for few reasons. firstly was due to the fact that we had done no pracc on nuke/train whatsoever, dnc were unaware of the map list and concentrated on inferno/cbble/prod, which were the weak maps for the team(not clever btw). secondly the age of the players in dnc ranges from 16-17 with me at 19. this was a huge facor as the team are essentially children, they lack maturity and basic kop on and it showed. had dnc practiced properly or had a coach around on a consistent basis the outcome would be completely different, if they were treated like children and not responsible adults and were given guidence then dnc would have the potential to be the best in the world, but they will never be that due to the lack of organisation within the clan.
"The new noc team have the same aims as I-eS had when they were getting better. To form a well established team"
yes but what I-eS did was get the best players available to them(ie. lil and greg), who are 2 world class players, they didnt get players that used to be good in beta 5.2 and a 14 year old who cant attend lans.
"you need each member to be friends with the other. All 6 players in the new team get on very well, and we know the difference between constructive criticism in practice, and just having a go because they did something wrong."
CS isnt a social thing, it is a computer game and the aim of the game is to win. being friends irl creates major problems, because friends fight and argue. things should mantain strictly goal orientated(another reason dnc arent as good as they should be).
"Teamplay is everything in a european standard clan. Skill helps alot,"
but you need the skill in the first place.... teamplay is not everything, intelligence is, not running off like a retard and trying to take out a whole team on your own. a great aim, patience and being able to stay calm is what counts when it comes down to it.
"but 2 average players who communicate perfectly, and can tell each other what to do in a split second shooting at 1 good player, the average will win 80% of the time."
yes, this in theory is a good plan, but you need the skill to take out the 4 other players in the opposition first.
"And alex why did you say IRON?"

Tbh i'd say skills are the important fact to succes, look at SK, such a short time together, they won the CPL on the fact that they were the best players.
Also, mental state, the way you going into games prepared makes a big difference. We did something new in Dallas to prepare for each game. It made a huge difference, the reason why we came away with such spanking scores against a lot of teams, and came close to SK and GoL. Had we not prepared in this way, we might have had toruble a lot earlier on. So we'll be doing this in advance of all games from now on. Look for us disapearing to a quiet place together at games domain before our games. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

AnNuM may have some degree of "skill" but as so many of you often seem to overlook, he was a total cheat online
And as for you idiots who think someone turning up to a LAN and playing "averagely" clears their name, you are stupider than you act (which is rather difficult)...
AnNuM has never played on LAN nearly as well as he has played online, but I guess he is a fairly decent arselicker or something, as he seems to of won over most of the fools in the community... (the same old fools who clear all their "mates" of cheating, despite all the evidence against them) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The thing about noc is all the old players got fed up of CS, and left.
Now noc have a totally new team with the oldest member being Rhyzz.
Rhyzz joined 8 months ago.
Teamplay is gotten through constant team changes which is what noc is going through, its gotten with knowing each others play inside out from playing with eachother a lot.
If this noc team sticks together and they enjoy CS, they can chalange IeS for the top, if they break up after they lose to IeS the first time, then the UK community will keep at the same level as one top clan. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
