Nocturne | Paul sends word of a press release regarding his position with top UK clan Noc. He'll be shifting his duties to involve himself more with the CS community as a whole. Here's a snippet:
"Just a little note to say that I am resigning my position with Nocturne as overall team Director and starting a new gaming venture. I am not leaving Nocturne totally; I am just altering my position, strategically, within the gaming community."
This has lead him to his new venture, e-Sports Promotions Ltd, which aims at helping gaming clans (not just counter-strike) achieve success with sponsors and the like.
"The company will act as a promoter for e- gaming teams across Europe, that it works for; offering commercial advice, gaining sponsors (both physical kit and cash sponsors) for the teams involved, brand policing the teams PR and over all view, issuing PR statements about the teams activity and creating financial revenue for the team from the teams web sites via my business interests, business interests of the other partners in this venture and business associates across Europe."
It's all fairly interesting stuff, you can catch the entire press release here. It could prove to be a bold move and potentially a very useful one at that for esports as a whole. Paul has already written up two very interesting articles for us here at UKT; the first focuses on sponsorship within the industry, while the second deals with approaching a sponsor.

UPDATE: Paul now has a webpage with more information about his latest venture, which can be found by clicking here.

I am not Bl33t I am his fanboy !!!???

What exactly was the great job he did ? Got them free headphones ... oooh nice. Before he cmae along 4k(I-es) were fighting tooth and nail for best clan in UK. Since he got involved I-es have widened the gap, and Nocturne are virtually dead.

Yeh he's done a real great job <-- That was sarcasm as you seemed to have troubled spotting it in my first post. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

i think u'll find that paul will be the one who sparks a turnaround in the position of noc. I expect that you are in 10 clans a month, and so dont realise that to have a successful clan means time and planning not just getting a team, losing and splitting up [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Bleets fanboy, Paul has NOTHING to do with the playing side of nocturne. If they are not the best clan in England it is by NO means his fault. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

um i think you will find he had somthing to do with the playing side lol as general team manager. Although this was as i understand it not his main area of influence.

Also, whpo i sto say noc will not comback as a great clan once more due to pauls work - they are by no means dead [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The reason for why noc lost their top spot of the UK back in december was just when Paul joined. The problem was 2 of the key players to noc's previous successes, Blaze and SaVaCe had lost interest in the game and played much less, noc didnt play as much practices. noc now hasnt got a single member from the glory days, and that's the key difference.

It's a shame players like Blaze and Sav dont still play. It's people like them the community needs, they were something special in terms of ability, they were both definitely better than me when they played. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

What i forgot to add, Paul does know what he's doing. He's doing this for the CS community, so why insult him, he's trying to help the players and the teams to get mroe out of gaming, and hopefully be able to go to the big tournaments. So support him, he's working hard for us. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The impression of self-importance you put forward is as amusing as ever. Nocturne was the name used by a now defunct cs clan who's one and only claim to fame was a single cpl qualifier win against the rest of the below par UK clans who took part. That is, a group of 5 people playing a computer game. Nocturne isn't a business or organisation, it has no internal hierarchy and the only positions that exist are the ones you invent and subsequently assign yourself. "Resigning my position with Nocturne as overall team Director", please spare us.

You are "altering your position, strategically, within the gaming community"? Why can't you just say you've realised what a dead horse Nocturne is and you're going to do something else, why do you have to be so melodramatic?

I look forward to commenting on your "e-Sport Promotion ltd" (that must have been a hell of a brainstorm) and the many unwittingly funny "press releases" I'm confident it will supply to its non-deluded viewers before its ultimately inevitable demise. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Regardless of them winning anything or not, they cheated and shouldnt have the respect they have, nor should they be allowed to win things or even enter in them, and certainly dont deserve sponsorship...

What does it say to people when you can cheat, get caught, get let off, then get sponsored and be allowed to win things? :/ [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

no1 in noc was ever some1 who had ever been caught cheating ever? So once again you prove yourself to be a retard.

When i first started playing cs some1 sent me lambert hack and i used it for ages, considering that was 2 years ago, does that mean i should instantly be banned from entering any tournament, and dont deserve sponsorship? Yeah Ok. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Your saying no one in noc was caught cheating ?

Riggs was caught 2-3 times at least...

The rock was caught at least once.

Savace and Blaze have cheated as well..

Hmm, so thats 4 members of noc who cheated..

You see, your statement isnt quite true now is it ? :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

No you ignorant f***. Rigs had 1 problem with a screenshot once, i won't bother with the details, cause it'll just bring back the same dispute.

The only reason it's known sav used to cheat, was cause he admitted to using spiked models when he originally started. Blaze was never caught with anything, and never admitted to anything either.

Shame that such a disgraceful cheat such as myself has won a free trip to korea, a free trip to dallas, and a few thousand pounds for doing nothing more than playing a game. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

04:08 18/8/2002
you are calling yourself a cheat? :P

as for rigs being caught, he was caught using the fb hack, which is the screenshot thing, he tried to lie his way out of it and gullable fools believed him...

he was also caught by PB one time with an opengl violation and was also caught before then back in the 5.2 era ;)

most of sldr used alphamin among other cheaty things ;p and they were nearly all caught using it, including savace and blaze

I made no comment about your previous play or what youve won or wether you deserve it DA, im merely pointing out that "some" people who "were" cheats, have more respect than they deserve. I was also pointing out the common flaw in the uk cs community, where even if its 100% proven that someone cheats, all his mates stand by him and he lies his way out of it and gullable idiots believe him....

Imagine if that happened in a real sport?

Luckily it wouldnt tho, as real sports are run by adults, not schoolchildren who have nothing better to do :P

im surprised the word "n00b" hasnt been used yet, thats usually the first thing to come out of any "l33t" players mouth when he is feeling bad :P [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Thing is, whether some people were caught in the past or not, if they dont cheat now, and are a top player (top lan player) then they deserve the respect, any player i used to play only cheated when they first started CS just out of curiosity, before CS came anywhere near to being big in terms of competition.

Also, so SLDR was ever caught.....Rigs never had an opengl violation either, so you're talking s***. How can some1 be caught back in 5.2 unless they admitted to it? There was no way of detecting a cheat back then. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
