eSports Counter-Strike league

eSports have started up their first official Counter-Strike league, and throughout August, they will be running weekly 2v2 and 5v5 Counter-Strike ladders, with monetary prizes ranging from $500 to $2000.

In the first week of the ladder, $1,000 is being offered, with $500 going to whoever takes first place. Interestingly enough, even though the competition takes a 2v2 or 5v5 format you don't have to play with always play with a certain team because your stats will be logged individually, regardless of who your teammates are.

The first weekly competition started yesterday and participation is free, only if you hold an active Player Card though. But they still have 900 Player Cards (normally $9.99) to give away, so if you haven't signed up yet and are interested, then you should probably do so pretty soon. More information can be found, here.
