Nordic, the number one seed for the CPL Summer Championship, have changed their name to "esu.swe" only days before the tournament starts. Here's the core of the media release:"Today Nordic Division goes from been playing in division 1 to playing in the super league by joining e.sports-united as esu.swe. We have gone as far as we can as amateurs and we don't possess the knowledge or the skills to reach our goals within gaming on our own anymore. Esu can help us with this. We are not businessmen in ties and suits that can brag about our skills in business or strategies, we are even less so lawyers that can handle contracts and law and right and business ethics, and finally we are not salesmen skilled in the art of sponsor hunting."Another step forward for a more professional clan setup, whether this is too late to make any impact on their chances at the Summer Championship remains to be seen. Though it would certainly be thought of as beneficial in the long term.

Looks like Nordic have realised that playing and being the best team in the world alone is not the answer.
Management is required! [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Wouldn't it be better to wait till after the event, then the news post could be "CPL winners Nordic become esu.swe" or "64th placed Nordic become esu.swe", either way i think their gonna get less publicity at this event now they've changed their name.
None of that makes sense btw^, but i know what i mean :P [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

& agreed Ripper. The only reasons i can think of is that either they wanted to start their new name off with a bang (if they do well, then the name esu.swe will have been given a great start in their 'first lan'), or perhaps esu specifically asked them to play this tournament using the name. and secondly "I do have to somewhat admire how you manage to con these companies out of their products under the cover of 'sponsorship' (which lets face it is just pan handling) for a cs clan that haven't achieved anything, but then what qualifications do you need to work in marketing." couldnt have really put it any better myself. Tracking a person on IRC
----------------------------------
Hostmask information is resolved to a person in IRC via the "/who" command. If u have a full (or even partial hostname) you can use the "/who" command in an attempt to find them. An example of a hostname is the bit to the right of the @ from the Address section of a whois. To resolve a hostmask to a person type "/who <hostname>" in status (i.e. of hostname is p273.as1.exs.dublin.eircom.net) this will resolve to the person on IRC using that host. If you only have a part of a host (i.e ***.as1.exs.dublin.eircom.net) from a UKt poster u can type "/who *.as1.exs.dublin.eircom.net*" the *'s are wildcards just as in a windows search this will spurt out a list of all the ppl on IRC who have that text in part of their host mask.
If u have an IP and not a hostmask and you want to resolve it (for example from an anon post off clanbase) use the "/dns" command. This will resolve an IP to a hostmask so u can use the who command.
Hiding on IRC from the "/who" ers
----------------------------------------------
How can I hide from the /who'ers on IRC ?
Go into invisible mode (in connect options of mIRC). This will mean ppl can only who u successfully if theyre on the same channels as you
Get a BNC
Bounce thru a wingate firewall (search google for more info) on this
Hope that makes some ppl more the wiser. I wrote it in a hurry and it may not be 100% so plz correct me if/where I'm wrong. Have a read of http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/misc/ccosmos.html for more info. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

i-es are the best the UK have which is shocking considering its population. + the fact they have a fat f*** who cheats aka Liquid and a dutch player. they are arrogant newbies and will be taken down from their high horses yet again come monday.
Liquid = fat cheat, look at his mega skills on lan against dNC as CT on de_train.
grim = the 'awper' in the team, and what an awper at that.
danfrag = lol, youd think playing CS for as long as him you could get half way decent.
lil = good player, only one who can aim on team.
darta = what a movie! above average.
and dNC, well what can you say about them. they are not even a team, definition of a team : A group organized to work together trying to achieve a similar goal. dNC are 5-6 players with no teamplay. they were laughable against i-es in the CPL qualifier final.
vertakill = frag whore, lets team m8s die ?
ajam = top 10 players in europe, if he learned patience.
tracy = my 3 year old sister has more brains.
a1ex = wow the '1' makes him 1337, he has a brain tho.
sev = ok, if he learned not to die.
what talent!! [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it's a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantement, it is as perrenial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

'tttttttt things that you have said that are wrong. 1) I-eS are by far the worst team going to dallas. 2) Liquid is a cheat 3) dNC are crap. 4) you have a brain.'
well you obviously put alot of thought into that comment. at least we have moved on from verbal bashing to something worthwhile discussing.
1) we shall see how I-eS do at Dallas.
2) liquid is astonishingly bad on-lan, yet he is by far their best player on-line. i also noticed you left out a word integral to my whole point, that he is fat. i dont like fat people, it is a sign of weakness.
3) i already explained why dNC are 'crap' in my opinion(and dNC, well what can you say about them. they are not even a team, definition of a team : A group organized to work together trying to achieve a similar goal. dNC are 5-6 players with no teamplay. they were laughable against i-es in the CPL qualifier final.)
