It's confirmed that 'Foot & Mouth' will not be a problem for the i7 lan event.Short of the government ordering the ban of all travel throughout the United Kingdom i7 will be going ahead as planned, and seeing as this is not a public health problem (Foot & Mouth doesn't affect humans) this is not going to happen. We've confirmed with Newbury Racecourse that all conferences are going ahead. i7 will be going ahead as planned!
But more importantly for those attending. Multiplay UK have teamed up with Fifth Season AS, the developers of the huge online browser-based game Planetarion, to deliver a LAN version for play at i7. You lucky, lucky ... people.
This version will have a bit of a difference though, with ticks happening every minute as opposed to every hour! That makes for some 4000 ticks in the weekend, as much as a season online. It's going to be crazy! Add to this Zeus of the Planetarion team coming along to prop up the bar and meet you all, with lead developer Spinner trying his best to make it too, and this is really going to rock! One of the great things about planetarion is that you don't need anything other than a web browser to play. We have visions of people running round desks organising co-ordinated attacks already :). We're still finalising the details of other modifications that will be made to make it play better on a LAN (such as a short vacation mode for you to take when going off for grub), and will post the details closer to the time.
