Future of CS?

Jogi over at Halflife.org has posted a fairly brief but nonetheless interesting article regarding Counter-Strike's future and how it has sustained interested for such a long period of time. Here's an excerpt:
"But what happens when you find a product, which in the last 4 (four) years, where the number of people using it gets to over 6 million? This is an amazingly long time and an absolutely immense number of people. Especially when you consider all the rival games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, Wolfenstein, Delta Force 2, Every RPG game, etc, etc. What has given it the ability to stand the test of time?"
It won't take you too long to read the rest, which is here.

i think i might of said this b4, but imo the thing which makes cs so different is that every single situation is different, you dont feel ne repetitiveness in the game, i tried playing q3 a few days last week, and it gets so boring cuz all u do is frag 4 ppl on a small map, and it just feels like ur doin the same thing over and over again. in cs theres so many maps to chose from, and so many different situations, that its hard if not impossible for the game to become boring or repetitive :/ [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
