Jogi over at Halflife.org has posted a fairly brief but nonetheless interesting article regarding Counter-Strike's future and how it has sustained interested for such a long period of time. Here's an excerpt:"But what happens when you find a product, which in the last 4 (four) years, where the number of people using it gets to over 6 million? This is an amazingly long time and an absolutely immense number of people. Especially when you consider all the rival games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, Wolfenstein, Delta Force 2, Every RPG game, etc, etc. What has given it the ability to stand the test of time?"It won't take you too long to read the rest, which is here.
