Preliminary CPL CS Team List

CPL commisioner Frank Nuccio, has posted a preliminary list of the Counter-Strike teams attending the Summer CPL.

"With The CPL $100,000 Counter-Strike Tournament just 11 days away I’m sure a lot of you are very interested in seeing a breakdown of teams that will be competing. There were two regional qualifiers that were held outside the United States this past weekend, those teams should be registered by tomorrow. There are also a couple of last second additions from Europe such as GoL and Nordic. Preliminary seedings and the distribution of remaining berths are on hold for a couple more days until those teams have had a chance to complete their registration. "

	DArtagnan Infinity-eSports 19:15 9/7/2002	Yeah, the reason why there are so few euro teams there this year, is there was hardly any qualifiers at all in europe. Any teams that want to go from europe are paying for themselves, and as the trip costs around £4000, it's clear to see why so few are able to go. 	XLNC/Dr_Evil 00:01 10/7/2002	Yeah there is a lot of US clans in the tourney but like Dart said its expensive to go / send a clan so the UK is lucky to even have a qualifier. I-ES (4K) did well last time out, maybe if they had praccied on fire more they would have got further who knows. The majority of UK clans seem to have a bad attitude about those maps (see what ppl said when I mentioned them b4 on another post) and no one bothers with them which is a shame because the war map cycle is stale now and new maps are needed. US clans play them a lot more in CAL for example so if they feature prominantly (they were only in the lower bracket last time if memory serves) there might be some US clans upsetting some Euro ones. 	iron 04:23 10/7/2002	i think i-es have a really good chance of getting top 5 this year, theres a few good german and scandinavian clans who might fill the first 5 spots, but on a good day you could probably beat some of them, also,9th-12th i think thats £5000 per team so it hardly matters if they did 'underperform'. gl in dallas [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	j0nb0y 08:47 10/7/2002	Other than the fact we should have beaten MA last time round, the real annoying thing was that our seeding was changed from 6th to 8th only hours before the start of the tournament. This meant we would have to play NiP in the winner bracket instead of DoP (?), it also meant there was no possible way we would have to play fire, only mill, so we didn't pay any attention to it. Looking at the list for this summer, I reckon 5th/6th is quite possible, maybe even better. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

But I reckon maybe top 5, depending on the seeds. Will be just their luck to get the best team in the world quite soon. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
