Crushing rumours that this was not going to happen, the VGA today announced the UK CPL qualifiers.The VGA will be running the UK Final to find the representing British Clan for the CPL Summer Championships in Dallas being held in July.This seems to be a much larger-scale tournament than that of last time held at TPF. No doubt all the top clans will compete for the Dallas spot including, Nocturne, Infinity-eSports and even dNc flying in once again from Ireland. If dNc can repeat their Primary Strike performance or if Nocturne can regain the form that saw them jet of to the WCG in Korea, or if Infinity eSports can match their victory of last time then it should be an exciting tournament. Best also not to forget the X factor of the lan clans who may pull more than a few suprises out the hat.Participating VGA centres will hold a local qualifier on 29th or 30th June 2002.
Winning teams from each local qualifier earn the right to take part in the UK Final on the 6th July. These teams will compete in the one-day competition at a central VGA venue to determine the UK winning team. This team will win flights for 5 players to go to the CPL Summer Championships in Dallas on July 19, as well as their hotel rooms paid for. They'll also receive a special berth as the official UK team and go straight into the finals of the competition.
Clans will need to register here at the VGA website to participate and there is a £50 entry fee per team. Registration commences on Monday 10th June.

Certain teams will be given an autoberth into the UK Final. Currently DNC definitely will receive an autoberth to the UK Final on the merit of their PS2002 win. Also Infinity Esports will also receive an autoberth due to winning the last UK CPL event. There will be two other autoberths announced later this week, yet to be decided, although nocturne are top of the list right now. I just want to speak to a few more people before a decision is made.
Any opinions and feedback are welcome. I'll be posting more information on the VGA website on Monday along with a registration form.
