Edward Watson (CSports.net) has sent over some interesting info for you lot. According to a short report published over on their site, it seems that up to 1.5 million online players haven't returned to playing Half-Life online since the recent patch was released (24th April)."A cursory look at the daily unique player plot since the update day seems to indicate that 16% of the Half Life community, or 1.5 million online players have been unable to or have decided not to download the new patches. Monthly data would suggest this number may be twice as large."They estimate that, before the release, Half-Life had around 10 million online players. You'll find more info and graphical representation of the situation over on CSports.

Also, I think that a lot of people playing online with 56k modems will wait for the patches to appear on magazine's CDs instead of painstakingly download them at 3 Ko/s... [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
