CS V1.4 - Full Change Log

Rizzuh has sent over an email to let us know that CSNation have posted up a full list of the CS V1.4 changes that we'll be seeing very soon. The list is pretty big so I won't quote them all. Here's a selection of the changes:

Changes/Additions

  • Added Anti-Cheat protection
  • User Interface redone for HLTV
  • Improved dedicated server FPS (sys_ticrate) accuracy in Windows NT/2K/XP and Linux.
  • New map cs_havana
  • New map de_chateau
  • Updated version of map de_train
  • Enhanced in-game spectator mode to include HLTV features
  • Added new first-person mode to spectator modes
  • Speaking players flash in team members' radars
  • Dead bodies remain on the ground for the entire round
  • Dropped bomb blinks red in Terrorist team's radar
  • Changed so only Terrorists are notified when the bomb is dropped or picked up
  • Changed so players must stand still when planting the bomb (including no jumping)
  • Changed so players can't move or shoot while defusing the bomb
  • Adjusted pistol accuracy while jumping (all pistols)
  • Adjusted player jumping values to minimize bunny hopping
  • Changed so the VIP can't drop any weapons
  • If player dies, view zooms away from falling body while changing the angle to show the killer
  • Changed color of the words 'BOMB' and 'VIP' in the scoreboard to make them more visible
  • Changed so name changes for dead players are stored and processed when the players respawn back into the world
  • Changed the way "kevlar" and "kevlar/helmet" work using the buy menus...made them work together
  • Added a sound when "kevlar" and "kevlar/helmet" are purchased
  • Removed players hearing enemy radio calls
  • Added code to force "sv_clienttrace 1" on the server
  • Changed so when someone mutes a player (in the scoreboard), they will no longer see that player's in-game text messages either
  • Added cheering to HLTV.
  • Steam beta clients and non-Steam clients can play together on the same server now
  • Voice communication uses DirectSound by default now
  • Added player ID to Half-Life DM
  • Added chat flood protection to HLDM.
  • Added logging of fatal Sys_Error server shutdowns
  • Renamed setinfo items "ah" and "vgui_menus" to "_ah" and "_vgui_menus"
  • Added new setinfo item "_cl_autowepswitch" (default: 1) which controls whether or not a client switches to picked up weapons (if they're more powerful)

yeh i found hearing ppls radio cmd's on publics useful but in clan games it kinda rendered them useless so hopefully 1.4 will see the return of the "Enemy Spotted" in a clan game near you! [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Yeah, I found that I stopped using radio as much as the other team could detect u by it.
Also what's with removing any skill from bomb plants? No more dropping it behind the box on bs B on dust2 and jumping off the ledge on bs A :( [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Hearing enemy radio was so utterly bad, that even the cs team saw how bad it was and reversed it 1 beta later.

Some nice tweaks in this beta I reckon.

Impressive list but it seems that its all simple but nice tweaks (and the new spectator technology which im looking forward to).

The radio commands issue is a definate improvement imho - now HE/FB will be more effective again instead of hearing 'fire in the hole' the first thing youll here is the nade landing at ur feet ;p

Dont like sound of jumping accuracy of pistols tweaked - i mean if there stoping u jumping already by tweaking that then also making the pistols less accurate when jumping is harsh - ill miss jumping round corner with DE as it was one of the best ways to beat a player with a better gun.

But above all i think alot of changes have been aimed at clan play which is excellent. eg notification of bomb droping only to t's/when u type u flash on radar (or can now use radio again for enemy spotted etc).

cant wait to dl it now ;p

Gonna feel vunerable when defusing now since u cant fire and defuse at same time but should be fun in 1v1 with bomb planted.......

a few changes seem alittle lame i.e Changed so players must stand still when planting the bomb (including no jumping) but some features sound ok, if it flops it flops, if its good its good. lets hope so. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
