CPL Response to 4K Claims

Posted by Blitz at 10:10 6/12/2001.

I noticed the following over on the avault coverage regarding Four Kings and some comments that Jon Neffgen (TheGenius) had made about the CPL being a bit biased towards the US:
"In yesterday's Adrenaline Vault interview with UK-based Four Kings, team leader Jon Neffgen said the CPL "seems to be very biased toward American rules for a game played mainly by the European community." CPL Tournament Director provided us with this response: "I appreciate Four Kings being honest, but that won't change the way we run tournaments worldwide. We've adopted this format, and it's truly the best way to run a tournament. The American teams adapted very quickly when we set 5v5 as the standard for CS tournaments. American teams were used to playing 6v6 for over 18 months online, and made the adjustment in no time at all. Counter-Strike is still a game of skill, strategy, and reflexes.""

I think his statements have been a bit misread, because I'm sure he was referring more to the maxrounds rules that are being used and I agree with him that charges only are a bit more exciting.
