Cliffe has updated counter-strike.net with news of some HL engine beta files that are available for download:"Our Linux Guru, Leon Hartwig has posted up on our forums a quick clip from EricS at Valve about a beta Half-Life engine test file. The new files will fix the "bad address type" fatal server error (caused by clients with long names) and it also has logging of fatal Sys_Error server shutdowns. So check out the full forum post if you'd like to help test it out. This is for server admins only.
No need to worry about this unless you run a server, in which case go read what they have to say.
They've also got a little news to say that they've updated their forums to Ikonboard rather than the old UBB they used to have.
