Russs: I'm Russ, newly appointed manager our line up is A_BeAsT (cl) b33p Ex^ droneboy REb` and Big-G.

A_BeAst: It's mostly because we play for fun and we play other games like ut and wc so we don't get so board, we all have a good laugh together and meet each other often at LAN events.

A_BeAst: because I don't think my clan is ready to play against the best in the UK at the moment. Once I know were ready we will enter.

Russs: I think this is mainly down to not attending major LAN events un till we feel we are ready

b33p: Last years CPL and WCG we were unable to attend due to players going on holiday, which also meant we were not invited to the Intel Masters event. Our last major LAN was PS2002, which we did dreadfully in, before that was WCG 2001, which we placed 3rd. This year it is one of our major goals to get to the LAN qualifiers.

Russs: We don't want to attend and come like 16+ threw being ill prepared, the way were playing at the moment, I personally feel we could give a good go at these events and finish top 5.

A_BeAst: The I-LANs are fun lans we go to them because there days long which makes it much more fun to attend, but I know my clan isn't ready yet but we are close.

Russs: Well if we keep progressing at the rate we are, we should come top 5 at the WCG qualifiers which are at the NEC.

A_BeAst: Yeah if I feel we can do well vs. the UKs best we will definitely be there giving it our best.

b33p: I think once we have some issues ironed out we will be able to compete with the best from the UK, and hopefully win most of these matches, but the top UK clans at the moment are highly skilled, so this will be no easy task.

Russs: I'd let me play.

b33p: I think the most highly skilled player in UK CS at the moment is lil, and I believe that he would bring many new ideas, techniques and scope to any team he joined if he decided to leave 4K.

A_BeAst: I'd choose fcc jedibitch because we all know him well great friend and good laugh and not too bad at cs :)

Droneboy: I'd bring (2)Player cos hes teh win!!!

Droneboy: /me quits Barcodes and restarts 4D for the 129th time :D

A_BeAst: Only times I been asked was some noob German clan asking for a merge :/

b33p: I've been approached a few times in my time at barcodes, I choose to stick with barcodes each time because we're a team made up of really good friends, and I would take friendship every time over switching to a better team.

b33p: the players who left were Shaq, Gen and Pace (pace choosing to quit competitive CS) right after our dismal performance at PrimaryStrike2002. I would say if they asked to rejoin we would decline the offer, as them leaving in the first place shows that they were after success rather than a fun time, which is not what barcodes is about.

Russs: As we are at the moment, were happy with the squad. And as far as I know doubt we'd have them back.

Russs: nah we always going to be barcodes.

A_BeAst: nope we prefer to play with our nicknames after a while the lines just got 6yr old :)

b33p: I don't think a name change has ever been discussed, I still enjoy using my |II||II||II| tag from time to time :)

A_BeAst: yeah it was but we played the best team in Iceland and we feel we did well with the rounds we won although we could have done a lot better if we didn't have to play 1 map on a SHITTY server.

Russs: well, we won our fist 2 games, then played Icelandic pros in the form of murks, so we were gutted as there's UK teams left in without the skills and experience we have.

b33p: In our final qualifying round we got drawn murk, which is the best team in Iceland at the moment. We knew it would be a hard match, them taking out team skins 44-4 in the previous round. We did our best, and I personally really enjoyed the game, which finished 33-13 to murk. I do believe that murk perhaps should have been put into the OC div1, but wish them luck in div2 and my money is on them to win it.

b33p: we plan to put a lot of practice time into developing our skill and team play, pushing us to a higher level so that when we attend the next set of UK LANs we will be able to compete well and place high. Also the expansion of the team into multigaming sections is being discussed, as we see this as giving the team better scope allowing for a more attractive appearance to potential sponsors.

Russs: well, in my opinion too many clans are trying to live the "e-sport dream", and people like e-sport pro, although do a favour to the community just encourage the idea that smaller clans will break threw, when in my opinion most never will, there's only 1 clan who can represent the UK at cpl's and maybe only 3 or 4 (at a stretch) who could represent the UK in euro cups.

Droneboy: Its promising as more and more sponsors choose to invest in e-sports, the way forward is to make sure events are presented in a professional manner and to see clans also acting responsibly. FPS games like cs especially may find it difficult getting into bigger sponsorship deals due to the nature of the game (guns and killing etc), but due to the popularity of the game it doesn't seem like that's going 2 be much of a problem.

Russs: Every 1 who can be arsed to idle in irc for us :P multiplay and liveshells, because Rupert looks after us and were a pain in the arse.
