When playing Counter-Strike there are a few other things you can be good at other than firing a gun, although admittedly, that's quite important too. For example choosing your model can be the difference between life and death in some cases.
Take an Arctic Avenger on de_survivor, The Avenger is a tactical model on this map as it is white like most of the map (snow). This choice of model would be a good one as you are disguised/camouflaged against the background on the map.
Another example, take the SAS model on a map like de_storm, a dark mainly indoor map where the SAS models all dark skin will blend in nicely with this maps background.
If you choose your model carefully to suit the background or texture on the map his can become a disguise and a tactic in your play. It goes without saying that the wrong choice of model on a map will make you all the more visible, but that doesn't stop people doing it all the time. Instead of rushing in, picking any model and hoping to make the pistol round....just take a little more time to make a wise choice, it'll pay off in the end.
So when entering a server look at the map and choose your model wisely, trust me it makes a difference!

Most players will use SAS / Avenger for the reasons above so when your ready to step in to the world of custom skins consider changing the SAS and Arctic skins to a different less camoflagued skin. This way you have a better chance of picking the players out. You of course should go SAS or Avenger just in case someone hasn't changed their skins. Just a thought ... I first liked to choose Terrorist skin #1, because in dark areas, CT can think I might be one of them, and that might give me an extra second.
HOWEVER!
I found myself constantly teamkilled by stupid teammates (80% are stupid)

There are one model that i know of that makes a difference. That it the model #2 for the Terrorist. It is made is such a way that it is smaller in almost all the skin. Eg, head, and chest. But the hitbox remains the same shape.
So.. you can make ur head smaller but the hitbox is the same. So, this makes your head less obvious, but the hitbox is the same. Kinda good actually if the fella is aiming at the head for a kill. And ur head ends up abuit smaller... [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

This article aim intermediate players, always on the way of improving their skills (and trust me, all the ways are usefull, moreover when you dream to be the best player and when you played quite a lot, then will know that anything which can give you an advantage even 10E-1/100000000 sec of react speed of the enemy, you should go for it)
Also, choosing a skin is completly free and cost you nothing, so choose it with your mind.
About ppl who some command to assigned same skin for everyone, or ppl who custom a wierd skin for you on their game or ppl who cheat on your skin with Red or Blue MagLight like Sprayage, then in those case ok, it is use less but at least you have tried and you can't know what other can see so keep trying.
Indeed, this article take value for 5 vs 5 Matchs, LAN Official Matchs or any oldschool HOnor Games where evryone is regular, has a pure game (without s*** script or skins) and where everything is calculated and done within a second.
End of the "Open your mind"
Now I can say that, like MuDgE, I always take the GIGN in CT because I am a good patriot and want to add that, the leet (1337) is most slim skin, and do a quit bit hard to hit if combined with good strafe move (and dust maps).
A little tips:
A Phoenix with an M4a1, has exactly the same shape that a GIGN in the shadow but a GIGN with ak can't be taken for a Terro cuz all cts handle the AK-47 like they handle the M4a1 (from the shoulder, in sniping way) You should have already noticed that the terros handle the AK-47 with a real terro style (they with it from their stomac, ganstastyle) Keep this in head before Team killing or dying cuz you thought in was a Damn teamate.
Of Course. all the topic al Model choice, while *"Maybe"* help you to gain in some situation, sometimes, but obviously this is not the most important. be sure to know each maps and to aim well at your target before.
