If you have just started playing Counter-Strike and have not quite got used to the ways of the game here are a few tips that will help you on your way.
When playing Counter-Strike you may have noticed that when you are firing at someone from distance you fire at them for a while and they always seem to kill you. This is probably because they are firing in 1-5 shot burst and you are holding your fire button down.
When firing at distance it is very important to fire in bursts, this increases accuracy and will give you a better chance of putting up a good battle. When firing at range and in bursts you can also make it harder for your opponent by crouching and making yourself a smaller target.
When you are new to the game you will stand a better chance if you follow a group of your team mates. This will give your team a better chance of survival and also yourself. When in your groups you may also learn a few tricks of the trade of these players. Following their experience will hopefully lead to you becoming a better player.
When you happen to die in a round and are waiting for the round to finish, look to see if any of your team mates are dead, if they are try and sort some tactics out for the next round. This gives you and your team a better chance of winning the round. Tactics could include sticking together, directions in which you will move, timimg of rushes etc.
You could also try following your opponents on 'chase-cam' to see where they sit, what their tactics are, any weaknesses/strengths they may have.
If you happen to be on your own or in a small group and are exploring the map for your enemies and you have a suspicion that they may be waiting or protecting one area. Your best means of staying alive are moving quickly, for example if you are approaching the bomb site as a Counter Terrorist jump around corners so if there happens to be and opponent there they have less chance of hitting you if you are in the air, you also have more time to look and stand a better chance if there happens to be a camper there.
Always check spots that you wouldn't imagine someone to be in...the moment you get complacent, someone will be there, no doubt.
These are just a few of the tips that I can offer to new players. If you have any other questions or would like any other help on game play or help then please get in touch with me, I will be glad to help.
Alternatively, ask any of the staff in #ukterrorist (on quakenet), if you use an irc program, or try asking in the comments or shoutbox on site.

Well done Snoopy, at least people who are looking for tips etc are trying to learn the game and tactics instead of downloading a bloody cheat and spoiling the game for everyone else. Keep up the good work. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Just a suggestion.
On a lighter note, I desperately need a good clan before Condition Zero comes out, does anyone want to welcome me? I'm running an awesome system and am better than the average crowd.
Thanks guys, keep on playing! [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

2. An important tip: never move while yourre firing, otherwise you won't hit anything. Let the strafing for the experts.
3. Crouching increases your accuracy!! But you still have to fire short rounds of 3 to 5. Downside is that it's more like;y to get a headshot, cause of the whole body becoming just a head.
4. Train yourself not to panic when suddenly fired upon, won't hwlp you. After all it's only a game. The most realistic of them out there.
