There is a clear and present danger in my mind. This is that I may soon become the most common poster on UKT, a position that I really do not wish to occupy but I do wish to share my opinions with you guys hoping (sometimes in vain) for decent replies. So, to the newsposters I send a message of hope that maybe one day news will resume on the site!
And onto the column...
How many of you have dialled 999? Or 112 as is now available as we move closer to become a European nation. I've dialled 999 three times in my life, the third time was tonight. I can remember when I was young, the whole idea of dialling 999 instantly brought fear to me. Michael Buerk on TV talking about how some bloke was stung 16,546 times by killer bees only to be saved by the quick thinking fireman smoking the bees off with diesel, or the child that knew tp put their dad into the recovery position after he had just fell 192ft from a cliff.
I dialled 112 whilst on holiday in Spain, my family and I were certain my Uncle had fallen into a diabetic coma and could possibly swallow his tongue, we were wrong, he'd had a heart attack. I dialled 999 on the motorway as well, travelling up the M1 at about 100mph we were overtaken by 4 Lotus Elises doing 110mph+ criss-crossing lanes, I was genuinely scared for their and others safety as they criss-crossed lanes. I've personally gone faster on the motorway but their driving was stupdily erratic that I called the police and beat their asses down. And finally tonight, I was in the Subway enjoying my 12 inch Cheese Steak when several dudes decided they wanted to get in despite the Subway people locking the doors and closing up. The Subway people locked us all in until we'd finished our sandwiches so we could all pile out together, outnumbering the nob heads outside. Everyone got out safely but about 5 or 6 t**ts continued to hassle the poor Subway guy and it was getting quite rowdy. I did a precautionary 999 call knowing how quickly these things could change from swearing and threatening to real violence. As the call was finished and I heard the sirens around the corner I felt such a great relief that our emergency services could be relied upon.
Please, share your experiences with the emergency services :)

Four balaclava wearing men sat in the car, two of the men jump out of the back of the ford escort wearing combat(army) jackets and balaclava's. Immediatly they had identified their target, as I watched the guy across the road duck his head down and sprint for cover only to fall thanks to the disjointed kerb, I realised the next few seconds of that mans life would be terrifying. How right I was. That was to be the very last time he was to take a breath as the two men shot, what seemed like a lifetime, 8 bullets into his head, throat, and chest.
Retreiving the men analysed and concluded that the guy I know who, just minutes before was walking freely down the road I live on, was dead.
I would have shed a tear if I had'nt of fully recognised the reasoning for the execution. What goes around comes around.

in my (sadly quite vast) experience of the law (in which none of the cases was i a benefactor of anarchy) their sometimes speedy arrival will only be overshadowed by the fact that you are greeted with a complete set of bigoted c***s. Which in over half the cases, werent even meant to involve you whatsoever since you have no idea why they are harassing you, so you have to thank some fresher uni p***y for dialling 999 like his bladder may have exploded because someone wanted a subway. Nobody is attempting to be a hardnut, but in your case, mr seik the pacifist, the next time you fear for the safety of people driving cars at 110 on a motorway, why dont you slow down to the f***ing speed limit before finding it necesary to include the authorities on the adventure,
in conclusion, f*** you. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

As it is making a "cautionary 999 call" is equally as thick as you might be using resources for someone who actually needs to get through at that time.

Another time my dad had to call the police because some henry lloyd baghead was throwing abuse at our next door neighbourrs (who are forreign, french) They where renting the house and this chav c*** thought it would be funny to round up a load of his mates and shout *frog dikheads* and *f***in kill you f***in dikheads f***in, f***in french dikheads* and other extremely harmful chav comments before repeatedly throwing things at the windows. The police said the incident call was "High Priority" and theyd send someone straight away but they took over an hour and it was too late because they chavs had set the car alight and bailed over the feilds at the end of my road.

Copper 1 = an old school friend, who has turned into the most racist bigot you'll ever come across
Copper 2 - let me off a speeding fine, as he got an eyeful of my mate's girlfriend's body in the passenger seat (he stood by her window for almost a minute, blatantly staring down her top & at her mini-skirted legs)
Copper 3 = a traffic copper - egotistical, power-mad w**ker
Copper 4 = a good mate, who now works for CID and has put some serious nasties behind bars (still, has become noticably racist since joining the London Met.)
Copper 5 = another buddy, who seems to have gone into the police for the right reasons - time will tell if it affects him for the wrong reasons...

1) When i was younger i had to call (at that time 911 being in the usa) because the house down the road was bursting with flames.
2) I have had the police called on me when i nearly killed an old friend of mine..all because he threw a penny at me
3)Called police when about 15 british t**ts decided to all gang up on a woman to mug her for her purse. Police took there good old time..even though the town i live in is tiny. Has a police station and a high street..thats about it.
anyway i will agree with others, you were doing 100 they were doing what.. 110? not only were you speeding but also you called the police..you were driving at 100mph and you decide to use your phone? i will say this as nicly as i can..f***in idiot. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

If you are, your 'Thank you police" bit makes no sense. You should recognize the seriously anti-evolutionary effect that people like police and hospitals are having. They merely protect the weaker members of our species and help them to multiply, while not helping the stronger members of our species. At times police even suppress the stronger members of our species, and prevent them from breeding freely. This is leading our species into an evolutionary backwater. Anything like the police, that tries to protect the weak/helpless, and thus reverse evolution, should be condemned.
If the thugs on the subway were stronger & more suitable for survival than than you, it's perfectly good that they kill you off in order to maximize their breeding potential and prevent you spreading your weaker genes. Come on, get with the program.
And I'm surprised that you tried to save your uncle. By keeping him alive he could breed, and pass on his heart weakness to a further generation. This is profoundly damaging to the evolutionary process. If you felt sentimental reasons for wanting to save him, you should know this is just an illusion which weakens our species. Atheists know that humans are the accidental, purposeless product of matter colliding with matter, so the ideas of "love", "personal identity" or "value" or "moral good" are simply bogus. If they can't be produced by matter, they can't exist.
Our chemical composition is worth about 32 dollars, and thats the value of your uncle. If he is weak, and using up resources that could be used by a stronger member of the species, it's better that his chemical composition become fertilizer.
Be consistent with atheism and stop assuming things that don't make sense within an atheist paradigm. Then you'd stop making moral assertions and your posts would make more sense. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Reducing humanity down to sheer scientific value; holding no stead in emotions and the denial of the human condition are the worst of intellectual crimes. The fact that you condone the murder of any individual by a physically stronger party disgusts me intensely. Your belief that the stongest of our numbers have the natural right to behave as they choose, without any regard for integrity of intent or other such moral and ethical concerns is highly dubious. There're many situations where these concerns are applicable, refuting your belief that morality and ethical concerns are archaic ideas and thus useless, incompatible and impede the evolution of man. One paticular example would be the rape and explotation of the earth and our natural resources.
Atheism and humanitarianism are not mutually exclusive. I wonder if you were stabbed during a mugging, lying there bleeding to death on the pavement, whether or not you would be thinking, "This is fair, this is natural I am perfectly willing to accept this and, not only that, this is profoundly good for humanity".

What I cannot accept, however, is the sheer lack of humanity displayed within the paticulars of the post, which seem - to me at least - as sub-par attempts at the justification and validation of that paticular brand of stratification; namely that might makes right.
I'm an idealist at heart, and while the implementation of ideals (such as I see them) into society at large are at best difficult, and at worst, completely impracticle and obsolete (in his view, probably), this is no excuse to completely disregard the humanist point of view.
In essence, he and I are at opposite ends of the spectrum; I relish the mystical and metaphysical, he is enveloped in the entirely physical world of the "matter". I do believe there can be some middle ground, and (in the macro sense) I would be willing to concede the transcendental - no matter how personally and psychologically painful that would be for me - if only there were a more humanistic approach to the stratification of humanity.
In some ways I'm greatful to him for being so honest with his views, as it promted me to be so with mine. In this great divide we can forge some kind consolation or compromise between our respective view points - if only he would continue his dialogue and accept debate.
I would be willing to accept his views as my own, if only he would debate the subject with me and - through as such - convince me of his arguments. I would like to believe that I could cut through the vitriol and rhetoric of his, and my own, arguments, to derive the truth of the matter. This, however, is also an idealistic argument because I'm not perfect (nor would claim to be) and I do know that I can be swayed with an effective and pursuasively worded diatribe against the beliefs that I hold dear - I am human after all. Though admittedly it would have to be one hell of a argument.
*Please note that the above (in both cases) are the ramblings of a drunken clot and are, as such, liable to the flawed exposition of my paticular paradigm and, conversely, could also indicate the poorly considered foundational tenets of a belief system.
*Also note that I'm an idiot, as past evidence has shown. (this you'll just have to take my word for ;-) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
