Everyone on ukt has been on gathers right?
Following the abysmal match that will have ensued you will no doubt like me have decided that gathers are populated by moronic admins aswell as idiotic players.
Now think of this what if you added to a gather which only had good mature players in it aswell as talented known admins?
This is our idea, im not going to post the channel because if it works hopefully soon you will inhabit this yourself.
The purpose of this column is to gather information from you all who have been around for long enough to know a thing or two about what makes cs good.
Now this is where the "new idea" really kicks off because what I and my fellow friends are going to do is set reserve slots on EVERY gather that is played.
How do you get a reserve slot?
simple by getting +av on the channel.
How do you get a +av on the channel?
this can be obtained in 2 ways.
As we are starting out we will have to give certain clans automatic +av this will be the "upper class" of the community so to speak (thats if they want to play of course).
The other way is quite simple if you are unclanned or in a unknown clan all you have to do is play gathers be mature and skilled throughout your time and we will be in touch to give you the +av.
So there it is if we get this well oiled machine working like a ferrari soon all your gather needs will be fulfilled with no s***e admins or s***e annoying immature players.
By getting the answers to my questions from yourselves this will help us make the type of gather YOU (and i) want.
So here goes
What anti cheat would you like to be on the servers?
HLGuard, CD or VAC.
Which server providers would you like the gathers to be played on?
Would you be interested in playing our gathers?
We will also be looking for 1/2 high quality admins is this the job for you?
Hopefully we can get this idea off the ground together thank you for your time.

1) always one f****t leaves and then the rest drop.
2) it aint the same as playing with friends
3) 85% of uk cs class themselves as "high skilled" which they aint.
4) it would be almost impossible to get mature ppl only as most of the chumps that play cs alot are the immature ones.

to answer some questions:
hayze: i do not believe that heaton is a celeb nor did i say he was infact i think hes a t**t that resembles a hamster.
also to think that there isnt a class system in the uk community is ludicrous.
i mean when was the last time u saw the likes of lastchance(csgn) playing a newly formed clan?
Leezer: you pretty much summed up what i hate about gathers.
Thats why we want to change that if you get enough reputable clans willing to play in gathers then we could have it so that 6-8 slots were taken by reserved slots.
and i know 85% of the uk talent think they are gods and the best at the game but the people who get +v's need to show maturity aswell as a reputable standard of play.
as far as talented admins are concerned we want to take a step forward by not actually playing the gathers when your admining itwe will just admin and for doing that you get to play in games which you are not admining.
Of course for any of this too actually work we need some help from some established clans within the community to take the reserved slots.

whoever is willing to play and wants a reserved spot will then be looked at over a period and taken into consideration.

I don't believe gathers are a waste of time. When I wish to play something that resembles a clan match and can't be bothered to go through the rigamarole of organising a mix, they fill that void perfectly. I don't know a huge amount of CS players (under #15), much less even conversing with the CS playing population on a regular basis. So once again, gathers perform a decent function.
I also find the gathers I play in - at #cs.gather.uk - the population of 'pro kids' is decidedly smaller than the 'random' mixes (on IRC) that are available for the population of unknowns and unconnected. I'm not indicating that all 'random' mixes are this way, this is just from my own experience.
As for most gathers being lower skilled - and therefore useless to the medium skilled and above crowd (when used as a skill elevation device) - what can I say? I suck. So it does me fine. :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Nowadays people cheat, nothing happens, they get banned from leagues then let back in, etc.
No punishment at all really, people see it as a quick way to improve at cs, you can learn more about cs in a few days cheating than months of playing legit i reckon. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

what might be an idea is to make a channel where all the players run CSGN:AC for pcw's. so far iv never seen anything dodgy on it, so as use was enforced (admins?) then it would go along way towards a fun pcw. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
