Nicked this from the Landed webby to save me doing me own seperate post:
I'm running in memory of a good mate of mine who even dabbled in the odd cs public game at one point. Any1 who can give anything would be much appreciated and a big, big thank you to LastChance, ONE, Aaron, Hotshot,Qpad and the Landed Lads for giving up some time to help me and the charity out.
On Sunday the 17th April, the annual London Marathon will take place. Thousands of runners, both professional and amateur, will be competing together in one of the highlight athletics events of the year. Amongst these competitors will be our very own Robert “b0sh” Spalton from the Landed Counter-Strike team. He, along with 15 companions, will be running in memory of a close friend who tragically died in a road accident in May last year.
Ed Prickett was a 21-year-old student at Nottingham University. His passion for running was evident from the start and his obvious talent resulted in impressive titles being awarded to him, including being ranked 2nd in the entire United Kingdom for both the 3000m and 5000m at Under-20s level during the end of 2001. Having been successful from the very beginning in his early teens, Ed was destined to rise to the very top in athletics and become a prime runner for his country. Kelly Holmes herself dedicated her second Olympics gold medal from the 1500m to the memory of Ed.
Rob and his fellow runners will be appealing for sponsors to aid their run as we come up to Sunday. All the money collected will be donated to the Ron Pickering Foundation as requested by Ed’s parents. The charity is set up to aid up and coming British athletes with training, attending competitions and much more. In fact, 70% of British medallists at the recent Olympic Games in Athens had received help from the Ron Pickering Foundation at some point in their careers. We at Landed Gaming hope you will be able to aid Rob and his friends in their appeal.
How can you help? Well, there are several ways:
You can directly sponsor Rob himself through the site which he set up for the occasion. You’ll be able to find a link to the website at the bottom of this post. Click on the button that says “Sponsor me now” and the rest is self explanatory!
Of course, there are alternate ways to help the appeal. Landed Gaming has set up some interesting and original ideas that we are confident you will appreciate and enjoy but will also help the campaign at the same time.
Firstly, Landed Gaming will offer Counter-Strike lessons along with our friends at clanONE and lastchance. This is a one in a lifetime opportunity to get hints, tips, tricks and everything else from some of the best gaming teams in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Aaron “Realf1re” Hennessy has also offered to tutor anyone that aids the campaign. The fluid.element player, who also used to be in top clans such as CAution! and even Landed Gaming, is commonly known as one of the best in-game leaders in the UK and it’s once again a rare chance that should be taken advantage of.
On top of that, we are offering the sale of a QPAD Gamer LowSense Aim. The QPAD has established itself as one of the best gaming surfaces around with sales skyrocketing and demanding surpassing supply by far. Here’s what QPAD say about their critically acclaimed clothpad:
’For all users with high demands on precision, feel and functionality this is the mouse pad that delivers. The unique coating not only ensures that the mouse registers every detail of the smallest movement; it also gives you a better, smoother and nicer glide with very low friction. QPAD® Gamer works with all mice. The larger pads increase the precision of your work further since the size of your target equals the size of your mouse pad if you turn down the mouse sensitivity. An excellent choice if you are a hardcore gamer or work with other demanding tasks such as graphic design or large spreadsheets.
QPAD is a hybrid. QPAD consists of a anti skid natural rubber base and fabric top with a polymer coated surface. You have the soft smooth feeling from the fabric and the nice glide from the coating and the rubber base makes it stay firm on the table. No other soft top on the market have the coating we have developed.’
This is a great chance to get a QPAD hassle-free as they are in great demand all around the world!
Lastly, but definitely most uniquely, Ed “Hotshot” Harborne from the Team Sportscast Network has offered his unsurpassed casting abilities for the campaign. By helping the campaign, you can get Ed to commentate on a demo of the match of your choice. This could be of your clan, a friend’s clan or a clan that is completely unrelated to you! If the match is on demo, Ed will put his wholesome efforts and abilities into casting it. It’ll be great for things such as clan presentations, clan movies or even just for pure entertainment!
Every penny collected for this run will go towards the Ron Pickering Foundation and we sincerely hope you will be able to help us remember not only a great athlete, not only a great man, but a great friend.

I read the news item about your friend's death and as David Moorcroft said, it's yet another tragedy we could've all done without.
