OMG! They Let Them Out Of The Country

My journey began on Wednesday the 23rd with OMG!, we arrived in Bilbao and were impressed by the nice peacefull but welcoming nature of the city as well as the friendliness of most of its inhabitants. We were the 2nd team to arrive at the tournament building with nEph getting there minutes before us. Once signed up we were taken to the place we would call our beds for the next few weeks then went for a walk around. For most of the day I checked out the building and looked around Bilbao city centre itself. One thing to note is that there is NO MCDONALDS!!! The tournament organizers themselves although having little grasp of the English language were very helpfull and willing to address issues people had. The first day was spent by the organisers the various booths and the painters were even in to add some finishing touches. The main "game gune" tournament area by the evening looked a lot different than it did in the morning and the admins were all virtually ready for what was to come. A lot of attention to detail was taken care of from the actuall aesthetic elements of the building to the custom GUI they had installed on the machines. On the Wednesday night OMG! had a 4 map pcw against nEph and we got quite friendly with the team who were all decent blokes. After gaming was over we went looking for some food which took us almost 2 hours untill we finally decided on burger king! =] When we returned back to the gaming area more teams had arrived and Craig retired to bed, this gave me the opportunity to OWN IT UP LARGE against a spanish clan on de_dust2 (i finished with positive frags! YAY).

The next day was the first day of group games and the tournament started 1 hour behind schedule but still managed to be finished ok by that evening. The first official day of competition saw little surpirses and overall it was a decent day. Me,Protex,DArtagnan and TeppuM had some french s*** from the bakery for breakfast and sat mingling with the other counter-strikers for most of the day. OMG! didn't manage to get on the pc's on the thursday due to the hektic schedule of games. GoodGame, nEph, Pro-Pain, a-L.MSI, Frontline[EYE] and e4 all got through their groups ok. That night most of the OMG! team decided to get a fairly early night however this prooved sort of impossible as we stayed up chatting about crap most of the night. The conversation went on into the night untill about 2 am between me,DArt,TeppuM and VIP.

The next morning was the day of OMG! group games and the start of the double elimination. It prooved to be the first and last day of the competition for OMG! but also was by far the funniest. After getting through the group easily OMG! were demolished on de_train by nEph and then mTw.HLO beat them on de_nuke. After spending most of the afternoon just chilling and stuff we decided to make a night of it and 'hit bilbao'. The early part of the evening was spent at a local bar where we talked about Craigs small willy and VIP came out with this shocker:

"My mum has a huge c**k"

Quite tipsy we noticed the time was round about 1 am, we decided to go searching for a 'discotec' which quite obviously is a night club / disco. After wandering around for 30 mins Sandie (craigs girlfriend) and Craig decided to call it a night, so too did Protex. This left the wandering drunks: vip, Bom, me(Dev), DArtagnan and TeppuM. We found 2 disco type things and partied well into the morning. The first bar we went into some huge fat guy fell over flat on his face trying to exit the club/bar/disco area i proceded to point and laugh untill the guy stood up and started gesturing like he was going to kick my ass, with me not being the biggest person in the world i quickly shut up and proceded to not make eye contact and seize the pointing. The drinks that were drunk that night varied from vodka organge, heineken, cruzcampo and some other cheap laga s***. DArtagnan was randomly going up to drunk ladies and trying to speak to them. As already discovered Bilbao isn't a really touristy area and the person who spoke the most english was the women at burger king... suffice to say DArt didn't get very far. TeppuM went to the toilet to be sick and to my recolection me and VIP were calling random people 'ugly dirty sanchez'. At round about 3am we saw the french guys 'Good Game' who had also been knocked out of the tournament that day. DArtagnan proceded to continuously hug and fluffle Subaru (one of the GG guys). Quiet untill now Bombay Roll aka 'Bom' was about to explode in a fury of childhood regression. At 4 am we decided to call it a night, all very very very very drunk we exited the walkway onto the street to walk home. DArt who had bought yet ANOTHER drink hurled it to the floor for no apparent reason! the glass shattered and a piece of it entered Bom's foot causing it to gash quite deeply. At first all the blood made it appear quite a bad wound so me and DArt took it upon ourselves to run around asking in spanish:

"Donde esta la hospital"

which is 'where is the hospital' :D VIP barely able to stand was p***ing himself whilst TeppuM who somehow got hold of a towel started to mop up boms blood. We stopped near a fountain and i told DArtagnan he had a mullet, to which he replied with anger and threw my beanie in the god dam fountain!!! After i got it out i recall shouting out for VIP to take a look at Boms foot. VIP for those that don't know it studying at uni to be a surgeon / doctor. All i kept saying was 'let sumit take a look, let sumit take a look.' VIP's expert opinion was that it needed stiches to which a very drunk Bom replied 'i may not be able to walk but i can run' then before we knew what he was doing he was running down the street arms waving in the air screaming 'WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'. He then proceded to enter a building site and throw sand all over the place. Just like a dog burries a bone bom stood with his legs appart and shuvled the sand all over himself. He then began hugging TeppuM leaving great big sand infested hand prints all over TeppuMs top. After more staggering and stumbling we came accross a tramp type person who VIP kindly for no reason told to 'f*** OFF' the tramp then replied 'you b******'. For some unknown reason this infuriated DArt who then wanted to fight the tramp and 'knock him out'. I started to sober up getting more worried about Boms blood soaked foot, VIP too seemed a little more 'with it' as we got near to the tournament building. When at the door Bom spotted a very sexy spanish security guard (yes she was female) and walked over to her. With sumit restraining him he started to shout 'Dev get your camera! we will take a photo!!!'. When in the building we sat on some benches and DArt proceded to destroy his entry ticket/pass whilst me and VIP were just in tears at the state of Bom. Bom went to the toilet and was in there for a while, DArt took himself off to bed so me,sumit,TeppuM went to check on Bom... in the toilet we noticed him sticking his blood drenched foot into a toilet bowl! YES A TOILET BOWL! and flushing it to get rid of the blood. He pulled his foot out and then asked TeppuM 'how do i make myself not look suspect'. On the way to our beds we had to walk through the BYOC area which was full of sleeping people and others still awake playing games, Bom ran up to one and started making funny faces and shouting random gibberish in his face. He then asked for the time and started shouting at the top of his voice '5 O'CLOCK IS THAT ALL IT IS! 5'O CLOCK'. We finally made it to bed by this time it was gone 5am. Once laid down Bom stood up and proceded to jump all over Protex waking him up (he wasn't very happy). He then went over to DArtagnans bed and rolled him off it, hitting him with a pillow at least 5 times... no movement from DArt... he then took his matress and laid it onto his to make a double bed. As some of you may know i had major chest surgery earlier in the year so i said to bom 'please don't hit my chest'. DArt who to this point seemed unconscious and hadn't woken up all throughout the beatings Bom had been giving him opened his eyes and said 'I wont' then went back to sleep!

The next morning non of us got up before midday / 1pm. When up we began to laugh at last nights festivities and DArtagnan was still drunk. We booked an earlier flight home as we weren't supposed to be home untill today (tuesday). The ticket transfer wasn't much. I met craig and sandie (who were staying in a hotel, not at the tournament area where we were sleeping) and told them about the previous nights festivities. At around 5pm Bom surfaced from his bed and was confused because the shorts he went to sleep in were no where to be found and had misteriously dissapeared! When awake TeppuM noticed his bag which had got myn, his and VIPs gaming equipment in had been stolen, we reported it to the staff who spent a good 2 hours looking through secruity camera footage to find the thiefs, we finally to massive relief got the stuff back which ammounted to over £175 in equipment. Once packed we said goodbye to people we had met especially xP.se, nEph and GoodGame who were all sound and departed back for England.

Overall the tournament was pretty good. The gaming side of things was excellent and the set up was nice. For the most part it ran on time with little interuption. The seedings / double elimination draw was handled quite badly but in the end i suppose things played out ok. Mauve the head admin was one of the most friendliest and helpfull people ever and on behalf of OMG! i'd like to say thankyou to him for all the help he gave us.

Don't ask me why i wrote this collumn, you don't even have to enjoy it =D Just thought i'd document some of the crazy things we got up to... :D We didn't just sit there playing computer games!!! I know I will have missed some bits out and may have even reported things in the wrong chronalogical order for that matter. Who cares? =D
